While all conventional digital learning initiatives keep connectivity at the core of their offering, Samagra Shiksha Uttarakhand and ConveGenius Foundation kept student learning outcomes at the core and aimed to solve that by leveraging technology. Recognising that internet access remains inconsistent across many rural locations of the state, an offline-first “Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL)” solution was designed to ensure that access to quality learning does not depend on internet availability.

With this initiative the state and the CGF are taking strong steps to ensure that the technology is being built around the realities of learners, demonstrating that access to tools with proven impact can be achieved even in low- or no-connectivity environments.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Rawat described SwiftSchool as "an integrated school transformation model of personalised learning, classroom technology, and data-driven teacher support, all under one roof". The programme’s impact data and insights will flow back into Uttarakhand's Vidya Samiksha Kendra, further strengthening the data infrastructure layer (whose scope has now widened to cover all private and government-aided schools in the state).

What is also noteworthy is the financing model underneath this partnership. ConveGenius Foundation has brought AWS onto Uttarakhand's CSR pathway, securing a donation of 1,000 laptops to equip the 50 SwiftSchools under this agreement. It is a small detail with a larger implication: philanthropic capital and corporate CSR spend are being routed directly into a state-government-owned school transformation plan, rather than sitting alongside it as a disconnected initiative. At the Srinagar launch, Dr Rawat extended that logic publicly, inviting other CSR-committed organisations to also join the initiative, an open call to widen the financing base around a model the state intends to expand to ~2000 schools catering to ~80% of the student population enrolled in the Government Schools.

Understanding ‘SwiftSchool’

SwiftSchool is an integrated model that we are now offering to extract the most out of deployed infrastructure in a school. The model is constructed in a manner that it seamlessly integrates with existing teaching-learning practices. A 3-pronged approach offering an immersive learning experience using 3D simulation and interactive digital content, coupled with personalised adaptive learning paths for each student and a hands-on maker space where students engage with robotics, 3D printing, electronics, and design thinking, the Swiftschool Model truly makes learning a continuous process for students and technology a teacher’s support system.

The first offering of this integrated model is SwiftClass – replacing rote memorisation with visual, experiential learning for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. At the model's core sits the Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) Lab, which continuously assesses each student's level, delivers targeted content in real time, and gives teachers data-backed insight into where individual students are struggling. Alongside it, the Swift Skills Lab is a design thinking space built to develop the curiosity and problem-solving skills that a standard curriculum struggles with. For students being reached via this initiative, SwiftSchools will serve as an equaliser, enabling similar access and opportunities that have historically been available only in elite private schools.

With two schools (in addition to the50 planned) already live, we are demonstrating the integration of a product offering and a financing model that can solve legacy issues such as tedious procurement processes and internet connectivity in rural areas.

With the senior leadership at the state level endorsing it and making a call to action, we are enthused about the road ahead.
